Proverbs, sayings and riddles are fertile material for teaching how the same idea can be expressed in different words. They are indispensable in teaching monologue and dialogue speech, making it a lively, colorful, so the chosen theme is seemed to be relevant. The aim of this paper is the analysis and synthesis of experience with proverbs, sayings and riddles in English lessons. In order to achieve the aim, we’ve put the following objectives - to consider theoretical aspects of English teaching, namely, English teaching in Kazakhstan; - to study the bases of teaching foreign language; - to analyze using proverbs, saying and riddles in English lessons, its role and practice. The object of our research is English proverbs, sayings and riddles. The subject of the course paper the role of English proverbs, sayings and riddles in teaching English. The methods of the study include a comparative analysis of the literature on the theory and methodology of foreign language teaching, learning teaching materials on the designated topic and available teaching experience, observation and experiment. This course paper consists of Introduction, 2 Chapters, Conclusion and Bibliography.
