The main aim of the present research is to study consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. This aim has identified the following tasks to be solved within the frame of the research:
• To study the translation activity as cross-cultural communication agent
• To compare differences between translation and interpretation
• To investigate peculiarities of simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
The methods of investigation:
Method of comparison: This method is used in drawing similarities and differences between the theories taken from various investigations.
Demonstration method: Some authentic materials are presented with the help of this method.
The structure of the course work is: Introduction, two chapters and Conclusion. In Chapter one we have studied translation and interpretation as a tool of cross-cultural communication. We have identified main differences between translation and interpretation. In Chapter two we have investigated simultaneous and consecutive interpreting in details.
