The actuality of the theme is that sound imitation is met very often and such words can quickly enter our speech and dictionaries.
The object is words in English language created by sound imitating.
The subject is investigating word-formation.
The aim of the research is to investigate onomatopoeia in English language, its characteristic and meaning in texts.
In order to reach the goal we must solve the following tasks:
- to regard the main types of word-formation in English;
- to give definition and characteristics of onomatopoeia in English;
- to make a list of onomatopoeic words and their meaning;
- to analyze examples of sound imitation in English texts.
The course paper consists of introduction, two chapters, conclusion and bibliography.
