The current importance of the present work is evident, because it is impossible to learn any language without studying historical and national background of the language and “Book of Words” written by Abay being the product of Kazakh national poet is a good source for Kazakh national colouring words. The main aim of writing this work is to study deeply lexical units of Kazakh national colouring and especially how they are translated on the basis of original and translated version of “Book of words”. The aim has identified the following tasks of the research: • To study the influence of one culture on another • To give definition to such concepts as “translation equivalence” and “translating culture” • To study what are realias and national coloring units • To study ways of translation realias and national coloring units on the basis of the “Book of Words”. Practical value of the research: this material will be useful for future and acting teachers of English language. Results of the research can be used for teaching students of English language department to enhance methods of translation.
